BUT - Uldreshi caught it early and texted me this morning to wake me up cause I guess I was in Shattered Halls and not answering anything. So I got on before they had a chance to send off all the gold they made or change my password!
Now you get to send in a ticket and say help.. and they take x amount of time. Id also suggest double triple scanning ur comp for adware and viruses and thinking up a new long letter number password. Since you didn't buy a $6 authenticator. Which ultimately is still stronger protection then just anti virus and spyware software.
Now then where did you Buy teh gold at? Email to website= login ima guess and you had the same password for blizz and website... Also HOW DID YOU GET HACKED WITH A FRIGGIN BATTLENET ACCOUNT??!!!?? Thats just poor form.
Um battlenet accounts ae getting hacked twice as fast as just the reg log in. The system for battlenet is huge.. massive. Then there are the South Koreans.. they eat, breath drink Starcraft... which is on what? Battlenet. Yes so now you see the area that hackers look at, that huge freaking network that says "COME ON IN! WE HAVE CAKE!" and the hackers do.
Battlenet is 1 of the worse secured systems on the planet.
Having three accounts, having one of them Phished, my ex went to a wow anniversary site, was suspended by blizz and I called them simpel reset. other than User retardization, its all good baby
First, as Melt said, make SURE your system is clean. I use Avast! Antivirus, and Spybot Search and Destroy.
Then, create a new gmail (or other provider) account, one that is not even close to any email you have now. The more random numbers and letters the better. Use that email as your Battle.Net login, and of course change your password too. Never use that email for anything else at any time, except in correspondence with Blizz (which is probably never). If you want, you can have emails from that account forwarded to your main account so you know when you get an email, but don't connect them in any other way.

Blizzard and any other MMO for that fact, will never EVER ask you for your password, or to verify that your password is ok. When you create a game account it is stored on their servers. They have full access to your information if they need. Some stupid site has been blasting me with 10 to 15 emails daily trying to say my account is about to be suspended. it all goes into the junk mail filter and I instantly delete it.
If in doubt you ever get a email that looks real. you go to blizzard's site look for their phone number and call them.
My account is now even more secure, and has a sweet in game corehound watchdog too!

And Knarf, haha yeah that was dumb of them - but worked for me! Any time I logged on it kicked them off then they'd log on and it would kick me off and we kept doing that while I changed my password

So they got your original password and just strolled right on in, no hacking required. It was either a keylogger, or you logged into a compromised website with the same login info as your wow login. Keylogger would be relatively easy to take care of. But if they have your username and password for that and it was the same for other stuff (ie email, banking, forums, etc), you may want to go change all of that stuff cuz they can do a lot of damage if they wanted. Not that they'd want to, but they probably also sell login info like that to entities that do.
