==Level 80 Stat Requirements==Ret Paladin Guide:
http://www.tarrenmilldeathguard.com/viewthread.php?threadid=3365&newpost=1Ret Paladin Requirements
Min Required Stats for Raids, It's all about the numbers
Need to be hit capped at 8%. Also be as close to 26 expertise as possible. A little under is ok, but want to be close. Keep in mind Glyph of Seal of Corruption adds 10 expertise, so if they have this, they only need 16.
For 10 man Naxx/OS level raiding, you should be at 2800 AP, with 20% crit
For 25 man Naxx/OS level raiding, you should be at 3000 AP, with 25% crit
For 10 man TOC level raiding, you should be at 3300 AP, with 28% crit
For 25 man TOC level raiding, you should be at 3500 AP, with 30% crit
For 10 man ICC level and above, see ICC requirements thread.
These are estimates and will vary some based on skill. Remember all stats are unbuffed.
Required and Recommended Addons, Because nobody wants to play using only what Blizz has given us
The following are the required addons. Pally Power, Omen, Deadly Boss Mods, and Vent. All from guild page addon requirements.
Gear and You, Hey you have to look good
Crafted Titansteel will work wonders early on. Also, if you have the money, pick up Darkmoon Card: Greatness (Str Version of course). Even with all the new gear, it is still one of the best trinkets for us in the game. Mirror of Truth can also help a lot and is purchasable with badges. Get your 245 ret Libram as soon as possible. This should be your first purchase with Triumph Emblems. Until you can get that, you can use the Libram purchasble with Venture Coins in Grizzly Hills early on, then upgrade to the Emblem of Conquest one when you get into farming heroics.
Gems, Talents, and Glyphs, oh My
Use the agi/crit meta with a Nightmare Tear gem in another socket. This gem alone meets the meta requirements. If you are gemming a yellow socket and you want the socket bonus, especially if that bonus is str, gem the str/crit gem. Any red sockets should be gemmed pure str. If you have a blue socket and you already have your Nightmare Tear, you should only bother with matching socket if the bonus is at least 8 Str.
If you are expecting an upgrade soon, you can get by with blue gems, but once you get into serious raiding, you want all epic gems.
For talents, your core talent build is
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?paladin#99QYH6EWbOl1,pere3,10433. The Judgement and Seal of Corruption Glyphs are a must, as is the Sense Undead Minor. If you are expertise capped from gear, you can glyph for excorsism/consecration, whatever one you don't have for your third major glyph. The consecration one is really good but I have found that the excorsism glyph is better.
With this build, you also have a few extra talent points. These are really personal preference and are up to you. I add two points in Vindication for an AP reduction on mobs, including bosses. This is our version of a demo shout. Some people choose to put a point into Seal of Command as well. With the recent changes to this seal, it acts like a cleave. Good for heavy aoe fights and pvp, but I've still found Seal of Corruption to be far better. I personally put some of my extra points into Divinity. While fighting in melee range, we are often taking damage from aoe abiltiies, and this can help the healers keep you up during those situations. Also of note is the talents for Divine Sacrifice and Guardian's Favor. These are both great raid utility talents and are great for those times that you need them. I personally do not use them, but I've seen many paladins that do.
Enchants, Making those purples better
These are the enchants you will be expected to have on your gear if you want to raid. These are copied from elitistjerks.com and are the best, and second best enchants you can get. Like gems, if you plan on getting an upgrade really soon, you can get by with the secondary enchant, but once you get into serious raiding you will be expected to have the top of the line enchant on all of your gear.
